Issue #2: Holiday Gift Guide (2015)

by ParentCo. December 02, 2015

Pleasure is spread through the earth In stray gifts to be claimed by whoever shall find. ~William Wordsworth, 1806 Yes, the winter holidays have become over-commercialized. But I still love them. I even love Christmas shopping. I usually head out with a few gift ideas, then hunt and seek for the rest. But this year, after helping with Parent Co's gift guide, I'm far more organized. (At least I have a better idea of what to ask for.) Here is your non-traditional gift guide. Over 100 suggestions for your kids, spouses, friends and family. But mostly for your kids. (We don’t get referral kickbacks on any of the products we recommend.)

It's almost Hannukah. Amanda Levinson asks "What Makes a Great Hannukah Gift?" and then answers with eight smart and funny suggestions.

Wondering what to give the creative, awesome kids in your life? Here are 40 Favorite Gifts for Kids for the 2015 Holiday Season.

Need to get something for your spouse? Here are 35 Gift Picks for Grownups and the Family. And here are Great Gifts From Friends of Parent Co.

Brigitta Burgess reminds us that books are always the best gift. Here’s her Guide to Giving Books to The People on Your List.

Want to think outside the gift box this year? Anna Palmer rounds up 18 Gifts That Don’t Require Shelf Space.

Or go way outside the gift box with 10 Destinations That Prove Travel is the Best Gift of All from Wall Street Journal correspondent Lizzie Simon.

Or, skip some of the spending with Nina Griffin's 7 Ways to Teach Little Ones The True Spirit of the Holidays.

Finally, laugh about the whole damn thing with Autumn Spencer's Bitterly Honest Gift Guide. "Get your kids a box of kittens."

Next week we're sharing an entire issue devoted to sleep. How to get better sleep, how to get your kids up in the morning, and more. The week after, we're celebrating the beauty and warmth of the season. We love hearing from you. Send feedback, requests for articles, or any links you'd like us to share to Edward@Parent.co. Thanks again for reading!
